Lake Level: Water Temperature: Lake Level: Water Temperature: Report date 01/08/04 Lake Elevation at Normal Pool : 600.20 Temperature:Outflow: 2440 cfs Level: 0.44 feet high Report by Satterfield Guide Service Here it is, 2004! If the lake doesn't freeze up with this cold snap, the crappie are still biting! We haven't had a chance to do much fishing ourselves, but our friends on the discussion board are catching crappie deep and shallow on jigs or jig and bobber. The jig and bobber is working good in shallow water around standing timber. You need to move around and adjust your depth to find your fish. If this cold spell freezes the water in the standing timbered coves, then move to the main lake and fish the channel banks on down trees or deep stumps and once again keep moving till you find these fish. With all the rain the fishing below the dam should remain very good as long as they continue to release a high volume of water. For walleye try after dark with jigs or crankbaits and watch out for the big muskies, they like these baits also. Be careful out there in the cold and take a friend fishing with you! Till next time.......thanks for visiting! Don and Barb Satterfield This page was last updated Tuesday, January 14, 2014
