Lake Map

Report by Sports Cache Bait & Tackle

Water Level: 10 inches below full pool.
Water Temperature: 70 degrees F.
Turbidity: Visibility 12 inches.
Fish Attractors: Not in service due to vandalism.

Fishing Pressure: Very light during the week, moderate during weekends and holidays.

Largemouth Bass: Good. Fishermen report good success fishing from boats and casting buzz baits toward shore. The largest bass caught was an eight-pounder. All were returned to the water.

Channel Catfish: Good. Fishermen report catching several in an evening. Most are using Bee Jay, night crawlers or poultry livers.

Crappie: Poor to good. Crappie have left the shoreline during the day. They can sometimes be found near shore in the early morning and early evening. They can be located near cover in deep water during the day by drifting. Boaters report catching several over two pounds this past week. Live minnows or jigs are the best baits.

Flathead Catfish: None reported this week. Most have been caught on goldfish or green sunfish fished at night.

Bluegill Sunfish: Fair. Bluegills have been harder to catch this week. Small bits of night-crawler, crickets, mealworms or small jigs and flies work well. Most are hand size or smaller.

Green sunfish: Excellent. See comments on bluegills above.

Common Carp: Good. Very few fishermen are fishing for carp, but large ones are available to be caught. Fermented corn, dough baits and night-crawlers are useful baits.

White Amur: None reported. Fermented corn is an excellent bait for these fish. A few are taken on night crawlers.
