A 10" minimum length limit and 20 daily creel limit for Crappie
A 18" minimum length limit for Wipers went into effect at this lake on January 1, 2005

Largemouth Bass fair using minnows and jigs

Channel Catfish good on night crawlers in the creeks and rivers

Crappie good using jigs and minnows off the banks in 5 to 6 feet of water

Striper No Report

Walleye fair using Rogues and Rapalas.

HILLSDALE RESERVOIR

Effective January 1, 2003 at Hillsdale Lake, Crappie less than 10" in length must be returned to the water.

Crappie good using jigs in shallow water 

Largemouth Bass fair using spinner baits and plastics in the coves (They are in pre-spawn mode)

Smallmouth Bass No Report

Channel Catfish good using cut shad on the flats and on trotlines

Walleye good on the flats using jigs

New lake record Blue Catfish of 41 lbs.

Largemouth Bass good using jerk baits off the points

Smallmouth Bass fair using crankbaits on the gravel banks

Catfish good using shad on the windy flats at the upper end of the lake

Blue Cats fair at the upper end of the lake using fresh shad

Crappie fair using jigs and minnows around the brush in 5 to 10 feet of water

Walleye fair using minnows along the dam

White Bass good in the river channels using spoons and jigs in 5 to 15 feet of water

Channel Catfish good in the river channel using fresh cut shad and at the north end of the lake

Crappie fair using jigs and minnows in 2 to 4 feet of water along the shore line

Flathead Catfish poor

Rainbow Trout fair

Saugeye fair using live bait at the River Pond and Rocky Ford areas

White Bass No Report

Access to the River Pond is back to normal

DOUGLAS (SFL)

Report by Sports Cache Bait & Tackle  

Water Level: 10 inches below full pool.
Water Temperature: 63 degrees F.
Turbidity: Visibility 12 inches.
Fish Attractors: Not in service.
Fishing Pressure: Moderate, but increasing.

Largemouth Bass: Good. Several reports of success on live minnows and jigs. Mostly small bass (under 18 inches) being caught, but some larger ones reported.

Channel Catfish: Fair. A few small channel brought in so far. Most are caught on shad sides, shad guts or night crawlers. Some reported caught on poultry liver.

Crappie: Fair. A few small crappie reported caught from shore. Most are caught on live minnows or small jigs.

Flathead Catfish: None reported.

Bluegill Sunfish: Fair. Several reports of success with night crawler pieces fished about 18 inches below a small bobber.

Green sunfish: Fair. Same report as for bluegill.

Common Carp: None reported caught, but many large ones can be seen jumping and rolling in open water. Corn or dough bait on medium tackle is recommended.

White Amur: None reported.

Dam construction has been completed.
Boat Ramp , courtesy dock and parking facility and new restroom has been completed
Over 250 brush piles were constructed
Approx. 500 Largemouth Bass 6-20" have been stocked. (They are expecting more to be stocked)

Note:  You will need a state fishing license, a Wyandotte County fishing permit is also required.  The county fishing permits are available through the Unified Government of Wyandotte County and other selected vendors.
