Bass-The water is finally starting to fall this week, and the bass are still biting well all over the lake. There are bass being caught out of the willows and bushes even as the water falls. The Carolina riggers and dock flippers are making the better catches this week. The Eakins jig and Zoom Brush hog are the two hottest baits this week. The boat dock brush and main lake points continue to produce many fish over 5 pounds. The topwater bite has slowed some but the Hart Ticker buzz in black is your best option. Spinnerbaits are still producing fish around the wood and bushes in the water.
Crappie-Crappie continue to bite well around the boat docks and the bridge piers. Grandpa's jigs in red/chartreuse, red/chart./ white, or gray/pink are the hottest colors this week. Minnows are the most effective off the bridge piers right now with the current caused by the dropping of the water. Jigs and minnows both are being teamed with The Berkley Crappie Nibbles in chartreuse and chartreuse sparkle. Brush piles in the 8 to 12 ft. ranges are producing the best.
Catfish-The catfish are finishing up their spawn and starting to feed real well. There is a huge shad hatch this year and the baby shad are everywhere by the thousands. The noodlers are pulling a lot of big flatheads out of the holes all over Grand this week. Juggers are putting a killen on the cats right now, and shad, goldfish, and perch are the baits of choice.
White Bass- White bass are biting real well from Monkey Island to Big Hollow. There are a good number of the white bass being caught on jigging spoons in about 15 to 20 ft. on main lake points. There are more and more white bass starting to surface feed in the Duck creek and Horse creek areas.
