Lake level as of 7/19/04 is 745.13 and slowly falling, there are six units of generation and no flood gates open.
Bass-The water continues to fall this week, and the bass are still biting well all over the lake. The Carolina riggers and dock flippers are making the better catches this week. The Eakins jig and Zoom Brushhog are the two hottest baits this week. The boat dock brush and main lake points continue to produce many fish over 5 pounds. The Berkley 10" power worm has been the top choice for flippen the docks. The topwater bite has slowed some but the Hart Ticker buzz in black is your best option. Spinnerbaits are still producing fish around the wood and bushes in the water.
Crappie-Crappie have slowed up this week, with just scattered catches. Minnows are the bait of choice this week with the crappie being a little tight lipped. Jigs and minnows both are being teamed with The Berkley Crappie Nibbles in chartreuse and chartreuse sparkle. Brush piles in the 8 to 12 ft. ranges are producing the best.
Catfish-The catfish are finishing up their spawn and starting to feed real well. There is a huge shad hatch this year and the baby shad are everywhere by the thousands. Juggers and trotliners are all making good catches in the 15 to 25 ft. range.
Whitebass- are biting real well from Monkey Island to Big Hollow. There are a good number of the whitebass being caught on jigging spoons in about 15 to 20 ft. on main lake points. There are more and more whitebass starting to surface feed in the Duck Creek and Horse Creek areas.
