Bass. The fishing has been good doing about anything this week. Crankbaiters are making some outstanding catches on DD22 and 300 series Bandits. The Carolina rig bite is off and on, but producing some good kicker fish. The dock bit are still producing good catches as well on Eakins jigs and 10" Power worms. The topwater bite has improved, with the Frenzy popper and Hart Ticker buzz being the top choices.
Crappie-Crappie are biting real well this week, with some quality fish as well. Minnows or jigs will do you just fine. Jigs and minnows both are being teamed with The Berkley Crappie Nibbles in chartreuse and chartreuse sparkle. Brush piles in the 8 to 12 ft. ranges are producing the best. The bridge piers are heating up as well.
Catfish- Juggers and trotliners are all making good catches in the 15 to 25 ft. range. Shad are the hottest bait for our whiskered friend, sides, guts, hole it just doesn't matter. Bank fishing is really good as well.
Whitebass- White bass are biting real well from Sailboat bridge to Goat Island. Jigging spoons are still taking the majority of the whites right in the 12-22 ft. ranges. There are more and more white bass starting to surface feed, but in about three more weeks the surfacing white bass will be everywhere.
