Above Sailboat Bridge: dirty
Sailboat Bridge to Horsecreek: stained
Horsecreek to the Dam: lightly stained to clear

lake level as of 8/23/04 is 743.63, there is two units of generation and no flood gates open.

Bass-The bass are biting well all over the lake on many different presentations and baits. The Carolina rig bite continues to produce as well as deep cranking. The dock bite continues to produce good catches on Eakins jigs, 10" Power worms, and Berkley Gulp minnow worms. Buzzbaits and poppers are catching good numbers and some quality.

Crappie-Crappie are biting real well this week, with some quality fish as well. Grandpas jigs in chartreuse or pink patterns are the hot ticket this week. Jigs and minnows both are being teamed with The Berkley Crappie Nibbles in chartreuse. Brush piles in the 8 to 12 ft. ranges are producing the best. The bridge piers are producing well.

Catfish-Bank fishing is really good this week using livers, shad, and Danny Kings punch bait. The drift fisherman are putting some quality fish in the boat this week drifting with shad in the 8 to 12 ft. water. Juggers and Trotliners are still making good catches on numbers of cats.

White bass- White bass are biting real well from Sailboat bridge to Goat Island, but with the fall like weather the white bass continue to stay deep. Jigging spoons are still taking the majority of the whites right in the 12-35 ft. ranges. There are more and more white bass starting to surface feed, but in about three more weeks the surfacing white bass will be everywhere.
