Horsecreek to Dam: lightly stained to clear
lake level as of 8/30/04 is 742.17, there is three units of generation and no flood gates open.
Bass-The bass are biting good shallow or deep as the water slowly falls this week. The Carolina rig bite continues to produce with Zoom Brushhogs and lizards. The dock bite is better early in the day, with Eakins jigs, 10" Power worms, and Berkley Gulp minnow producing the best. Buzzbaits and poppers are catching good numbers and some quality. The bite is good in the upper river on the logs, Balsa B's and Hart bleeding series spinnerbaits are the top choices of anglers this week.
Crappie-Crappie are off and on this week with the best catches coming in the morning. Grandpas jigs in chartreuse or grey patterns are the ones you well need. Jigs and minnows both are being teamed with The Berkley Crappie Nibbles in chartreuse. Brush piles in the 8 to 12 ft. ranges are producing the best. The bridge piers are producing well.
Catfish-Bank fishing is really good this week using livers, shad, and Danny Kings punch bait. The drift fisherman are putting some quality fish in the boat this week drifting with shad in the 8 to 12 ft. water. Juggers and trotliners are still making good catches on numbers of cats.
White bass- White bass are biting real well from Sailboat bridge to Duck creek. Jigging spoons are still taking the majority of the whites right in the 12-35 ft. ranges. There are more and more white bass starting to surface feed.
