lake level as of 3/14/05 is 742.39, there is no generation and no flood gates are open.
Bass- Just when the bass act like their going to really start biting another front moves in! With a front moving in every four days or so, its been hard to have any consistency. Stickbaits continue to be the best choice this week. The most popular out of all the choices is the Luckycrafts pointer 100. The Jig bite is feast or famine. Points and chunk rock banks seem to be holding the most fish. Crankbaits in crawdad patterns fished on the same structures with a slow retrieve have been working.
Crappie- The weekly fronts aren't effecting the crappie as bad as the bass. There has been a fairly consistent bite for about a week now. The best bite is occurring during early morning to around 11:00 am. The darker colors are still hot. Grandpa's gigs in the browns, blacks, or grays have became hot this week. Minnows are doing better from the mid-day on.
Catfish- The Juggers are catching some nice cats on shad in the 15-20 ft. range. Several cats are being caught around the crappie docks on jigs and minnows. Try tossing a cat rig off of your favorite crappie dock.
White bass- They are still catching whites at Twin Bridges and up the Spring River.
Spoonbill (paddlefish)- They are snagging spoonbill around Sailboat Bridge, and from the mouth of Elk River up to Osage hollow. Trolling in boats is the method being used.
