Horse Creek to the dam- lightly stained
Lake level as of 4/25/05 is 742.43, there is four units of generation and no flood gates are open.
Bass- The largemouth are starting to spawn in a few parts of the lake. Spinnerbaits and crankbaits are catching good numbers, and some size. With the bass moving shallow the drop baits are hot.
Crappie- It never fails! Just when the crappie are starting to do what we want them to do, good ole mother nature decides we need 30 degree nights for the last four nights. The crappie that were being caught shallow are no longer. The dock bite has slowed with the cooling water temps. I hate cold fronts! The weather will get better soon, and the crappie will turn on again. Today is just better than tomorrow!
Catfish- Cats are biting well all over. Juggers and liners continue to do well in the 8 to 15 foot depth on main lake points and canal swings.
Whitebass- They are catching some really nice whitebass up the Spring and Neosho Rivers. The whites are being caught on the swallow sides of the channel swings.
Spoonbill (paddlefish)- There are spoonbill being caught up both rivers right now trolling from boats.
