Above Sailboat bridge- muddy
Sailboat bridge to Horse Creek- dirty
Horse Creek to the dam- lightly stained
Bass- The rain keeps coming! Spring and Neosho River are full and Neosho is still coming up. This time of the year this has the potential for some of the best fishing a flipper could ask for! The bass are already biting real well on crankbaits and drop baits. The Carolina rig is doing well, but if that water gets up in the bushes and willows the rig bit could slow down. The topwater bite is starting to come on as well, with the Hart Ticker buzz leading the way.
Crappie-The crappie are biting well despite the dirty water. The docks are still the hottest spots, but there are good reports coming off the bridge piers. Chartreuse, blacks, or reds are the jig colors of choice.
Catfish- Cats are moving into the rocks and around the schooling gar. There are numerous channels and blues getting ripped out from under the gar, with shrimp and worms being the primary baits. The flathead's are in the holes, and the noodlers are have a blast! Juggers are catching good numbers on shad all over the lake.
Whitebass- The whitebass in the lake have moved out and are biting the jigging spoons. They are starting to surface feed in parts of Horse Creek and Elk River.Small crankbaits and Firecracker grubs are producing the best.
Drum- The Big drum are moving up the rivers as well. Cut shad and crawdads are the best baits. The bridge piers and deep canal swings are the areas with the larger schools of drum.
