lake level as of 8/8/05 is 742.69 there are two units of generation and no flood

Bass- GRDA is pulling the water down as they do at this time every year. They should take it to 742.00 as they normally do. The water may be on the fall, but the bass are still biting really well. The Berkley 10" power worm and Eakins jig are producing well on boat docks and in the brush around docks. Carolina riggers are still catching good Numbers and quality on main lake points and secondary. The Hart Ticker buzz and Buzz Throb are the best top water baits right now, and they are producing some big fish.
Crappie- The crappie are slow this week with the water falling. The docks are your best bet right now. The baby shad are in large schools all over the lake, and they are all around the docks in most coves. Crappie are biting from 4 ft to 15 ft. and at different times of the day. Whites, grays, and pinks are the hottest jig colors.
Catfish- The cats are biting well all around the lake, from shallow to deep. Juggers are catching good numbers on shad all over the lake. Trotliners are making good catches with the water falling. They are setting their lines in the water from 8-14 ft. deep. Green sunfish and shad are the baits of choice.
White bass- The white bass in the lake have moved out and are biting the jigging spoons. They are starting to surface feed in parts of Horse Creek and Elk River. Small crankbaits and Firecracker grubs are producing the best.
