On Sunday June 25th, the Backlashers Bass club of Olathe had their 10th annual Bass tournament at the Long Shoal Marina, at Truman Lake in MO., for the benefit of the Dream Factory in Kansas City, Missouri.
The tournament started at 6:00 a.m. with 36 Boats, which were 10 more than last year. All through the day the fishermen were out fishing in competition for the money prizes. The weigh in was at 3:00 p.m.. Most Teams had from one to six fish. Stringers ranging in weight from just under two pounds to over 12 pounds. There was a lot of excitement at the time weigh in as there was many Bass caught. I'm sure, no matter what, all the Anglers had fun in helping to raise money for such a worthy cause. Besides collecting 50 percent of the tournament fees for the Dream Factory, there was a lot of donations by sponsors that were either given away or raffled off to also help collect money for the Dream Factory. The entries for the tournament alone collected $1520.00 for the Dream Factory. With the monies collected from the raffles and the donations for the food, pop and water, the total amount was $1962.00.
So all in all, the Anglers, Backlashers and the sponsors had a wonderful day in helping making more dreams come true for some wonderful children; and after all, that is what is all about.
