The Dream Factory is an all-volunteer organization
in the Kansas City area built from one man’s idea to grant seriously or chronically
ill children the wish of a lifetime. Since the summer of 1984, when his dream began, more
than 2,500 Kansas City youth have been granted such a wish. “Doctors say the work of
the Dream Factory often accomplishes more than modern medicine. Particularly in cases of
cancer, the hope and encouragement provided by a dream come true change attitudes, and
health begins to improve.” (www.kcdream.org)
The goals of The Dream Factory are simple:
* Locate Children who are seriously or chronically ill and insure that their dreams come
true.
* Create a smile on the faces of children who are either seriously or chronically ill.
* Promote a better family atmosphere during a time of great suffering.
* Involve the whole country in the pleasure of granting dreams to children in need of a
little ray of sunshine in their lives.
* Raise the funds necessary to provide these dreams whenever the need arises, and never be
forced to refuse any child's request due to the lack of funds.
