Report by Bud's Bait & Tackle
We have a new specie in the lake that has grown over the last few years, that is white perch. I have talked to fisherman that have kept the bigger ones, and they say that they are excellent eating. You can distinguish the white perch from white bass by the splash of purple under the mouth. They have lighter lines than white bass also. If you catch these, please remove them from the lake. Eat the large ones, but dispose of the little ones. The biologist said they can destroy the food chain of a lake.
The boat ramp in Lucas Park is open at this time as well as the east ramp in Minnooka
