Lake Map

Report by Missouri Angler Bait & Tackle

The lake level is 656.0 with a water temperature of 52 degrees, which was taken at Bagnell Dam by AmerenUE. The water temperature ranges from 52 degrees in the main lake area to 44 degrees in the upper ends of the rivers and creeks. The main Osage, Gravois, Grand Glaize and Niangua Rivers are clear with visibility from 6 to 10 feet. There are some coves and small creeks having a dingy colored appearance, but the water is fairly clear with a visibility of 4 feet. The largemouth are still spread out and can be found in the backends of the creeks out to the main lake points.

LARGEMOUTH BASS - GOOD The lucky Craft Pointer, Smithwick Rouge and Fluke with insert weights are catching keeper largemouth on secondary and main lake points, and around boat docks on the steeper banks and points. Also producing are spinnerbaits and medium diving crankbaits on windy chunk rock/pea gravel mix points and channel swing banks. The jig n pig in front of docks with brush 9 to 15 feet has been producing some keeper largemouth and twin tail grub worked on chunk rock banks in the same depth.

SPOTTED BASS (KENTUCKY'S) - GOOD Jerkbaits and Fluke with insert weights worked around boat docks on chunk rock points and creeks on short cove points. The spinnerbait and medium diving crankbaits worked on windy chunk rock points and banks in the creek arms.

WHITE BASS - GOOD Medium depth crankbaits, small spinners (Mepps, Road Runner and Rooster Tails) on windy main lake non channel points and on secondary points in the creek arms.

CRAPPIE - GOOD Minnows, jigs and Road Runners over main lake brush 10 to 25 feet and in creeks over deep brush 10 to 25 feet.

Report by Sonsac Marine and Southwinds Motel

Largemouth Bass & Smallmouth Bass: slow, but slow rolling spinners or jigs tripped with pork will catch some nice fish. Points at the backend of coves with cover seem to be the best.

White Bass: no report

Crappie are hitting jigs over deep cover and along the bridge piers-coves in 25 to 30 feet deep seems to be the best. Start at the bottom and work up until you find the correct depth were they are biting--most are very nice size

Walleye: very slow must have been caught fishing deep drop offs with spoons. On windy cloud cover days can still be caught with blue/chrome or black/chrome crank baits

TABLE ROCK

Lake Elevation at Normal Pool: 917.0 Temperature: 49-52 Clarity: clear

Release Rate: 1386 cfs. Level: 9.65 feet low

Report by: Pete's Professional Guide Service

DAM AREA, KIMBERLING, BAXTER, CAMPBELL POINT
WATER TEMP.49-52

The deep bite was on....I don't know what happened to it. Normally the colder it gets the better the deep bite gets. There have been a few fish being caught deep on 3"-4" grubs, on 1/4 oz & 3.8 oz. jig head, also tube baits, and the best colors I have found are smoke, salt & pepper, blue gill or watermelon. Drop shot rigs with the same bait or try 4" worms. I was using Zoom finesse worms in watermelon red, and their meathead worm in salt & pepper, chrome & white jigging spoons, on long sloping gravel points, main lake and secondary points, 40' - 70' deep. In the past week I think a lot of the fish have sucked down and holding tight on the bottom. They have not been showing up on the electronics as they were. I believe the deep bite will be back but it was nearly non-existent this weekend. I ended up moving up into the river the past 3 days....

UPPER JAMES RIVER , KING'S RIVER, & LONG CREEK
WATER TEMP. 46-50

We went from the main lake into the rivers, still not much success. Friends of our fishing tournament this week end and they said they caught their fish up in the rivers on wood, with jigs, and they had good limits. We were catching some stickbait fish in the Aunt's Creek area, on main lake and secondary points with submerged timber in 10' - 15'. Try some crankbaits between these same trees and the bank. 2' - 10' - wigglewarts, bombers, bandits, crawdad patterns. Work these baits real slow.

TANEYCOMO

Temperature: Level:

Report by River Run Outfitters

Trout Fishing continues to be very good on Lake Taneycomo. The only problem right now is generation. They have been generating early in the a.m. and running most of the day once or twice week. The rest of the time, they run until early afternoon, or not at all.

Fly fishing in the Trophy Trout Area is catching large numbers of fish as well as some nice size fish (18 inches plus). Best flies are:

size 14 flashback scud
size 14 tan scud
size 12 chartreuse glo-balls
size 12 roe red egg pattern
size 12 chamois leech
size 16 red micro San Juan worm
size 14 gray sow bug
size 8 and 10 olive woolly bugger
size 14 or 16 Adams
size 20 Li'l Easy, copper
size 14 & 16 Crackle Back

Deep water down below the Trophy Trout Areas is fishing well with 100th oz. olive, or black and yellow jigs and the 128th oz. chartreuse glo-ball.

Some of the area fishing docks report that bait fishing has also been good.
