Well it's time for us to let you know all we have been told about the fishin around here. There is a goodly bunch of shad in the lakes this year and at times the fishin is not as it should be. --------------------------------------------------------------------- Crappie--they are deep and around brush piles but there have been a few nice ones caught. This is at both lakes and the creeks and river and by nice we can say 2 to 21/2 pounds. Minnows and a few jigs are doing the best at putting these in your basket. At times you do have to work at fishin pretty good. --------------------------------------------------------------------- Walleye--the walleye have been somewhat slow this past week but we have gotten a few reports of some keepers being caught. Most have been taken while drifting or trolling in both lakes. Minnows, night crawlers and some jigs are working well. Most have been either early morning or late evening. --------------------------------------------------------------------- Bass----about the only bass we have heard much of this week has been an occasional white bass. Minnows and jigs have been used on these fish. --------------------------------------------------------------------- Catfish--the channels are again the most caught fish in this. They are slow at times and we are sure it has to do with all the shad. But minnows, crawdads, and crawlers have been working good for this fish. Some of the bigger ones have been caught using small perch and gold-fish. We haven't had much in as far as large flatheads but there have been a few smaller ones caught. Perch, goldfish, crawdads, and koi are a good bait for these. --------------------------------------------------------------------- We are open 7 days a week and carry a complete line of bait and tackle for all of your fishing needs. We also can give you the latest on what the fish are doing. As most of you know, if we aren't in the shop when you need us for something all you have to do is walk across the street and get us.
